Bredonborough.

The night’s adventuring featured calls to Eric Tamm. Well.

WillyFred leapt into action as I rose from bed, emerging from his position beneath & running in circles around his Primary Care Person in residence.

In the shower: arising ideas for The Writing Project.

Back to pitiful online via the Vodafone dongle. Unlimited access to very little is only a little better than limited access to a great deal, surely.

E-flurrying-ish, kinda, a teensy-weensy bit.

F & E Git Fiddle Question :: Posted by gregjames on February 09, 2011
I am enjoying the the Fripp & Eno Live in Paris Concert very much - a remarkable recording in so many ways. Not the least of which is hearing RF’s extensive use of the whammy bar for what I believe to be the first time… I recall reading that RF had struck up a friendship with Robin Trower during this period (‘74-76) and that he had received not only lessons from Robin, but also the generous gift of a vintage Strat… Of interest to the topic at hand is that RF reports that he learned the “wobble” from Robin at this time, which I presume is a reference to a whammy bar technique (I’m not an electric player, so help me here guys).

Actually, the wobble referred to here, as taught by Robin, is wide-band vibrato; plus bending up to / down from a note & giving it a good wobble once arrived.

So, it is not a great leap of logic to suggest that RF was using a Strat (perhaps the gifted Strat from Robin) during this little tour with Eno. This theory also offers another explanation for the divebomb effects at the end of The Heavenly Music Corporation on No Pussyfooting. I always assumed they were created by tuning peg and/or tape manipulation…

 The guitar was the Les Paul used from November 1968 onwards. And the dive-bombing on No Pussyfooting was by de-tuning the peg.

Any thoughts/memories/photos on this from the peanut gallery?

… with regards to… KC & RF’s music is that this music, to me, covers several areas of the human condition. Some of these areas are not places we’d like to explore or visit regularly.

Agreed, and this is very much how it is for me.

21.42 Done.
